asked me to attend this rally in front of the White House. Well, her recorded voice did. So, I went. This was the third or forth rally against the genocide in the Sudan that I'd been to and, probably, the least effective. Several weeks ago, I joined a large crowd in front of the Sudanese Embassy in DC. We wore blue UN peace keeper caps and blew whistles for an hour or so. The police had to block off the street. In front of the White House, we had a hippy old time of it, picnics, small children, a famous actress, who looked great, by the way. Here's another issue that seems hopeless. And, why aren't we out there protesting the camps in Guantanamo Bay, not to mention the war? I mean, what are we going to do with all of those people? Even if they are all criminal terrorists, are we planning to keep them for the rest of their lives? How did anyone ever think "Gitmo" was a good idea?Monday, April 30, 2007
