Our Morale Officer

Biscuit, our morale officer, is a miniature American Eskimo dog. She really, really loves her family; but pretty much no one else. The American Kennel Club calls this "conservative" behavior. She has tons of facial expressions, or should I say snout-and-ear expressions. When I come home she maniacally runs up to me barking and 'smiling' until I tell her to "get a bone", "get a bone", "get a bone" to shut her up, which she does continuing to run around maniacally wagging her tail and rear end. She knows a lot of words but you sometimes have repeat yourself. If she can't find a bone, she gets a ball. What more could you want. Of course, Biscuit, named for her color, is the best dog on earth, except that she barks and sheds, but other than those two small issues, she's the greatest. I actually like the barking because it is like a language. She barks one way when she is happy to see us, another when a stranger walks in front of the house, another when she is mad at us for leaving her alone -- she barks us out. Eskies are companion dogs; and Biscuit really, really wants to be with us, on us sometimes. We got her from The Heart Bandits, the Eskie rescue group because Dani fell in love with the breed on Animal Planet. In the early part of the 20th century, Eskies were circus dogs. I'm looking for more info on that.

Biscuit does not have her own blog, but several other Eskies do.
