Although it has not killed anyone in decades, New Jersey has repealed its death penalty laws this month. This is great news. Slowly we are dragging ourselves into an advanced moral future. I can only hope we can bypass the dark ages that so many rightests would have us headed toward. Despite the terror around us, we must not be killers. Listen to New Jersey Governor Jon Corzine's statement; it's fantastic!

Abolish the Death Penalty
The death penalty is the ultimate, irreversible denial of human rights. By working towards the abolition of the death penalty worldwide, Amnesty International USA's Program to Abolish the Death Penalty looks to end the cycle of violence created by a system riddled with economic and racial bias and tainted by human error. Please join us in taking action against the death penalty.
