This was the hardest political decision I've every made. I like both of the Democratic candidates. I think that they both want the best for the American people, unlike Republicans who couldn't care less about anyone except themselves. The Republican party is the biggest hoax on the middle class. Rich people have convinced middle class folks that they could be rich if only they'd side with the rich. All the while, the rich pick the pockets of the smiling middle class.
Anyway, I like Obama's enthusiasm, leadership and charisma. I like Hilary's leadership, programs, experience and nastyness. I think you have to be a tough ass to be a world leader and defend the United States.
On Monday, the eve of the Chesepeake Primary, my husband and I went to Michelle Obama speak at a high school near us. And she was wonderful, but we decided that 1) Barak won't have the slightest clue how to run the country; and 2) we disagree with his assertion that we (dems and republicans) should all just get along. Won't happen. He thinks that Repubicans have the same goals he has. Michelle went on and on about helping the people .... Republicans couldn't care less as long as there are enough living people to gather their food and clean their hotel toilets. Repulicans don't want universal health care. How can you play nicely with that????? I mean is Barak Obama going to know a shark when he sees it? Sharks are different in Washington and around the world, from those he's used to on the streets and in Illinois. I don't even know if his Harvard experience has prepared him for that. Put it another way, Obama’s position is a continuation of the current do-nothing congress in which the Republicans are playing tackle football and the democrats are playing touch football and getting creamed. Obama’s idea that everyone will work together if he talks to them properly is ridiculous. There are good reasons why we all can’t just get along. Clinton pointed this tonight in her Channel 7 interview. Sometimes we need a leader to put his/her foot down and say no, the other side is just plain wrong. This is not partisan politics, it's trying to the best for everyone the country.
I really don't understand why people hate Hillary. She's smart and wants to change the country and help people. She understands that she is swimming in an ocean fully of sharks and has to be equally agressive. So in the process she pisses off a few people, so what. Plus one can only hope that a smart person like Hillary has learnd from her past mistakes (eg health care). But it looks like I'l have to drink the Obama cool aid if we're gonna keep McCaine out of the oval office. And despite everything I said above, i'll enthusiastically work for Obama.
